Founder & Director

BLOND:ISH

BLOND:ISH’s music takes her to a wealth of magical places worldwide, from Ibiza to Coachella, Tomorrowland to Tulum. Of all the green places on this planet, the story all started one fateful morning at Warung Beach Club in Brazil. You might have heard about BLOND:ISH (aka Vivie-Ann Bakos) playing a monumental DJ set with a mountain of plastic blocking her view of the venue’s fabled scenery. That was the aha moment that got her thinking about using her music, voice and platform to create a culture of positive social impact.

Co-Founder & Operations Lead

CAMILLE GUITTEAU

Enter Camille. After starting her career hosting radio shows, producing events and marketing activations, Camille settled in Amsterdam as part of Gracenote. Soon after, she found herself wanting to contribute to the industry in a different fashion; one that would help build a sustainable future for the planet. A passionate dancer, her own aha moment happened after a summer spent raving on too many plastic-filled dancefloors, which took her enjoyment away from the very music she had come for. This simply wouldn’t work, and she decided something about it needed to change.

Our Story

IT STARTED WITH A VISION.

It was 2019. BLOND:ISH was mid-set at Warung Beach Club in Brazil, one of the most beautiful venues on earth, and a mountain of plastic cups was blocking her view of the ocean. That was the moment that the idea for a Plastic-Free Party came to life. In front of a beautiful beach and a vibrant dancefloor BLOND:ISH had a question that wouldn’t go away.

Enter Camille Guitteau. On the other side of the dancefloor Camille had spent a summer raving on plastic-filled dancefloors and decided something needed to change- from the inside. Together, they turned a rider clause into a movement.

Six years later, Bye Bye Plastic has kept over 1 million plastic cups off dancefloors, brought 1,500+ artists into the Eco-Rider movement, and built a global community of venues, festivals, and fans committed to a plastic-free future. The tipping point isn’t coming. It’s in process.
