LISTEN TO
BBP's History
Dreamed up and led by Vivie-Ann aka BLOND:ISH as a grassroots movement, Bye Bye Plastic is now a team of 8 eco warriors on track to wipe out single-use plastic in the music industy.
Bye Bye Plastic has inspired thousands of DJs and event promoters to back the initiative since launching in 2018, through the #PlasticFreeParty movement and Eco Riders.
We officially became a Foundation in January 2020, and have partnered and consulted with industry giants such as International Music Summit (IMS) & SXM Festival. We also led sustainability panels at ADE Green, IMS, Brighton Music Conference and beyond, while turning heads and gaining coverage from media including BBC Newsbeat, GRAMMY, BBC's Victoria Derbyshire, The Line Of Best Fit, Clash, Rolling Stone, Mixmag, DWTV (Germany).
YOU TOO CAN JOIN THE MOVEMENT AND EXPLORE HOW WE CAN EVOLVE TOGETHER TOWARDS A #PLASTICFREEPARTY
BBP Team
BLOND:ISH
BLOND:ISH's music takes her to a wealth of magical places worldwide, from Ibiza to Coachella, Tomorrowland to Tulum. Of all the green places on this planet, the story all started one fateful morning at Warung Beach Club in Brasil. You might have heard about BLOND:ISH (aka Vivie-Ann Bakos) playing a monumental DJ set with a mountain of plastic blocking her view of the venue's fabled scenery. That was the aha moment that got her thinking about using her music, voice and platform to create a culture of positive social impact.
CAMILLE
Enter Camille. After starting her career hosting radio, event and marketing activations, Camille settled in Amsterdam as part of Gracenote. Soon after, she found herself wanting to contribute to the industry in a different fashion; one that would help build a sustainable future for the planet. A passionate dancer, her own aha moment happened after a summer spent raving on several plastic-filled dance floors, hindering her from enjoying the very music she had come for. This didn't make the cut, and she decided something about it needed to change.
MARIA
Maria has over 15 years of experience in online marketing, mastering the art of communication, content, engagement, and conversion strategies. As the Special Projects & Martech Lead at Bye Bye Plastic Foundation, she’s been remixing digital initiatives to amplify our mission and crank up the volume on eliminating single-use plastics. Fueled by her passion for sparking change in Miami, Maria has rallied volunteer squads for high-energy gigs like Ultra, Miami Music Week, and Big Hit Padel. With a digital strategy that’s always on beat, she drives innovative and impactful results for the foundation. Together, we're dropping the bass on plastic pollution and turning up the sound of sustainable living worldwide!
LILY
Lily's aha moment was catalysed by Blue Planet II during the first months of her marine zoology degree. Coupled with her background in media and finding inspiration in the philosophy of Blue Mind, Lily's love for the ocean resonates in the connection between human wellbeing and blue spaces. As Bye Bye Plastic's copywriter, Lily is passionate about rewriting the music industry's plastic story to protect our wild spaces.
