WHAT 2022 LOOKED LIKE
2022 was the year the dancefloor came back and we came back with it. After two years of pandemic-era digital work, we finally got to gather our community in person, on both sides of the Atlantic. The energy was overdue. The momentum was real.
This was also a year of firsts. We launched the world’s first bacteria-based PHA vinyl through our #PlasticFreeParty compilation album, kicked off a long-term plastic-free transition with AREA15 in Las Vegas, and received our first major grant. Oh, and we got our 501(c)3 status in the US. Not a bad year for a foundation that was only just getting started.
The numbers we can confirm are a floor, not a ceiling — we know we moved more plastic than we can fully count yet. But 90,093 cups off the dancefloor, 1.49 tonnes of plastic salvaged, and 53,000+ dancers reached is a solid place to start.
