French clubs pledged plastic-free through the Zero Plastic Club
WHAT 2023 LOOKED LIKE
2023 was the year the movement stopped being a conversation and became an industry standard. We brought 23 French nightclubs together under a single plastic-free pledge every major Parisian and national club in the country, committing to eliminate single-use plastic water bottles by the end of 2024. The Zero Plastic Club launched to transnational media attention and a packed room on World Water Day. The Municipality of Paris showed up. That’s not nothing.
We also unveiled the world’s first circular bio-based event cup at ADE bacteria-grown, compostable, reusable, and made from recycled cooking oil. Not a prototype. An actual cup, used at an actual party.
And for the first time, we calculated our own carbon footprint 14 tonnes of CO2e and invested in carbon removal projects to match it. We keep 52,846 cups off dancefloors and held ourselves accountable to the same standard we ask of everyone else.
